Camp Create is a visual and theatre arts day camp. It is specifically designed and planned for children who have special needs, including physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral challenges. The camp offers a unique blend of art and theatre instruction and games that are based around each week’s exciting theme!
Led by Steve and Amy Colley of The Dietrich Theatre and Michaela Moore of All About Theatre Performing Arts School, Camp Create is a mix of fun and learning, with consideration for children’s individual needs and interests.
THIS IS A CAMP THAT FOCUSES ON
WHAT YOUR CAMPER CAN DO!
Session 1: August 2 – 6, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
KINGS AND QUEENS OF CHANGE, A RENAISSANCE ADVENTURE!
The Renaissance! Join us for camp where we explore this incredible era of thinkers, scientists and artists. Campers will create original art and unique characters like artists, kings, queens, knights, jesters, philosophers and people who asked “where will our world go next?” Create a beautiful sculpture like Michelangelo, take down an Empire like Joan of Arc, make a new invention to change the world like Leonardo da Vinci, be a Queen of grace and power like Elizabeth I or maybe even become one of the most famous pirate queens known to man like Grace O’Malley! All of this and more will be a part of this incredible camp where we look to the past to see our future and ask what do we want our world to be now? This week of creating will culminate in an original renaissance story created, written and performed by the campers with costumes, props, sets and more also designed and built by the campers. Join us on this renaissance adventure!
Session 2: August 9 – 13, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
